Couchside

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Couchside is a browser extension that adds a comment section to Netflix episodes. This page explains what it stores, why, and how to delete it. In short: we keep only what's needed to run Couchside, and we never sell your data.

What we store

When you use Couchside as a guest

If you choose to sign in

While you watch

On your computer

Your settings (like the spoiler setting), your display name and your sign-in session are saved in your browser's extension storage. They stay on your computer.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider sees your IP address and keeps short-lived technical logs for security and to keep the service running.

Who can see it

Services we use

We don't sell or rent your data to anyone, and we don't share it with advertisers. Your data is used only to run Couchside.

Sponsors and ads

Couchside may show sponsor messages or ads in the comment panel. They're always labeled. Sponsors and advertisers don't receive your personal information from us. If you click a sponsor's link, you leave Couchside and their own privacy policy applies. If we ever start using an advertising service that collects data, we'll update this page first and say what it collects.

Couchside's use of information it receives follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it

Deleting your data

Children

Couchside isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will also be announced in the extension.
